NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
at Orem High
The National Honor Society is an organization whose activities focus on the following:
*Point System: Acceptance into the NHS is based on a point system.
Seniors need to have 5 points
Juniors need to have 3 points
Sophomores need to have 1 point
AP classes = 1 point
Honors classes = 1/2 point
UVU class (taught by UVU faculty) = 1/2 point
**classes can be counted from past years (including 9th grade) and those currently being taken.
Previous years active NHS membership = 1 point
(1 point for each year's membership)
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors can apply at the beginning of the school year.
Throughout the year, all members of NHS are required to attend 3 NHS sponsored service projects. In addition, all NHS members must perform a minimum of 10 personal service hours (5 hours per semester) and report on them.

1st Service project – making blankets
Monday December 12th 2:30 pm
2nd Service project – Gift Bags for Children in UVRMC
Thursday January 19th 2:30 pm
3rd Service project – School cleaning.
Wednesday March 15th 2:30 pm
4th Service project – Tutus and capes For Mexico.
Thursday April 27th 2:30 pm
5th Service project – Clean up city park.
Tuesday May 9th
Closing social & Induction
PERSONAL HOURS DUE:

We will not accept any hours that are turned in late so please make sure they are turned in on time.
